I also have an Acer TimelineX with the same specs as ImpulseX except in a 13". I have had 3 Acer TimelineX's in a row now and not one of them have given me any problems so I doubt they're the worst.

The Lenovo Y580 would be good but the battery life and weight is not quite up to your requirements. Problem is most 15" laptops that have decent graphics are heavyweight and shorter battery life. 4830TG fits the bill but I think the line is due for a refresh soon with the new Ivy Bridge. The ASUS U46 looks decent too except I hate that battery hump.
