They could just spec grippier rubber than the stock Prius tires.
IMO Toyota worked so hard to make the handling direct and neutral to allow for throttle controlled oversteer, I don't think they will do anything to take it away. There is a safety system already with the TC so if owners choose to deactivate that safety net themselves, why should Toyota have to neuter the whole car? By all accounts the FRS doesn't exhibit extreme oversteer or even snap oversteer like the MR2 did
