Actually I think she was referring to the pineapple pastry (the Taiwanese style). But the one in the picture had a ham dan yolk in it, so you'd have to assume that it is not a pineapple pastry... Someone said it was a lotus seed pastry (so basically an "all year round" moon cake) or it could have been mung bean. To me, the colour looks like it is pineapple paste...
But her description was simply that it tasted like "pineapple candy", and that was that. She went on for ages about pei dan, but she just ate a fucken sweet pastry with a salted duck egg yolk in it, and made no mention of it.. that is kind of weird. Is she even eating this stuff?
