any e36 or e30 for those prices is going to be a pile of shit. I haven't seen a well sorted e30 for less than 8k locally, and its still a 20 year old car. Apples to oranges. I could have bought a 1k mk1 rabbit and had a fun manual ff hatchback but instead I spent 24k and bout a mk5 gti. Its not the same thing just because they share a few characteristics.
