I need a new video card as the current one I have always cuts out and I need to restart the PC. I'm wanting more RAM as 4GB just isnt cutting it right now.
So my question is should I just upgrade my RAM to 16GB and upgrade my video card to something like GTX 570 or Radeon 7870? or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new rig?
The reason why I'm asking is with the new Ivy Processors out... do they make a huge difference? What about adding SSD? There are a few games coming in in the next 3-4 months (GW2, Dishonored etc) that I want to be able to play at decent resolutions.
Trying to weigh the cost of $1500-2000 for new rig or $400-500 for a few parts...

get another 8-12GB of RAM, 7870 or gtx 660 when they come out this month, and maybe a SSD if you have money to spare and that will serve you well for another 2-3 years (assuming you dont play at resolutions above 1920x1200)
no need to dump $1000+
