This starts earlier, I'd say, even as young as 21. (Mind you, the percentage of younger ones will be a bit more materialistic and care about what you drive.)
But I completely agree that girls look for guys with life experience. All my female friends are 21-27, and they ALL say that they want a guy with an interesting story. Nothing's more boring than a guy went from high school, straight to university, and straight to the office with nothing in between. Benz or no Benz, if the guy hasn't done anything remotely interesting with his life, they'll pass.
