I think the key to socializing is just to be genuine and stop comparing yourself to everyone else. There is no need to have to be best looking/most rich/status etc. Always be there for anyone who needs a hand. Not to be a tool but anyone could have a down day or being stuck at a tight spot.

You are who you surround yourself with so be picky about who you want to invest your time and effort in. If you have your shit together and passions in life, good people will be drawn to you.
