Just wanted to add to this:
I did some more research on the company that made this bike: Universal Cycle Corporation. They've been around since the 70s and is/was run by guys from Taiwan. They are also the OEM manufacturer for Avanti, a well known Australian-New Zealand road racing and triathlon bike manufacturer.
I'm not so worried.
