if you are getting shitty reception with ur gateway in the house. there's a good chance that even if you plug in a wifi router the same thing is going to happen. i'm just going to assume you are going to plug the wifi router into the gateway in the same room. i had the same issue with wifi signals in my house so instead i bought one of those powerline adapters and setup a second wifi router upstairs so now i have wifi signal all over the house and connects to whichever wifi signal depends on what floor i'm on
