So driving home from camping in the Campbell River area backcountry, I'm on the logging roads following my buddy. I thought I heard a strange POP, but the windows are up to keep the dust out, and the music is going I don't give it a second thought.
We get to paved road, and I start hearing a CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG coming from my truck. I'm thinking "What the fuck?!" and pull over.
I see that one of my rear tires is flat, with what looks like a bit of metal sticking out of it. Once I put the spare on, I take a set of pliers and yank this motherfucker out of the blown tire:
I always carry tire plugs and a portable compressor when I go backroading, but they wouldn't have really cut it in this case.
The shiny line is the part that was touching the tread blocks. The blunt end is what was buried 90degrees into my tire, smashing into inside of my rim everytime the truck rolled around, explaining the noise.
Sucks I just bought these tires in October, good thing Costco has a good road hazard warranty
