Yes, cramming is one way to go. This program gives you the hands on experience you need for the job.

After completing your 2 years and getting the diploma, you're able to use those credits towards a bachelor's. This is one of the most popular options according to the instructors BCIT : : Forensic Investigation (Computer Crime Option): Part-time, Bachelor of Technology. Recruiters from companies come near the end of the second year to hire would-be grads.
