meet new people bra, i hate the texting thing.
as bad as this may sound i train whatever girls with ground rules right from the get go.
rule 1) no phone conversations in car, texting permitted depending on situation e.g. just driving, no much talking
rule 2) no texting at all during meals unless its fast food or some shiz, even then because you set the ground rule in the beginning she will be pretty much trained to not text even with fast food. If its super important they will call you, so calling is permitted but no conversations, just straight cut n dry whats the point of the phone call and then hang up
4 girlfriends later, never had a problem with texting, just had a problem with the bitches LOL

Also on the over bearing part of your problem. Yea drop that act right now, as many people said already it makes you look very weak, if i was the guy who is texting your gf I would think this is free hunting season for me. You guys fight over stupid shit like being over bearing, who does she text to vent? Yea probably some of those guys, so yeah the guys know you got relationship issues. Even if you catch her she will butter you up with "i just wanted a guy opinion! it means nothing!" which has a proven $$$$$ record to her.
Change your life, stay with her if you want but dont give a shit who she talks to. Do your own thing, go buy a old ass beater bicycle and restore it to get your mind off the girl. Make her want to crave you, make her not just use you for cars and food. If she shows no interest then fuck it and move on, like seriously fuck her then ditch LOL its her first relationship, she never had the feeling of being in a relationship so yea I can see her craving that honey moon stage of the relationship, it is a fun stage.
tldr: time to move on brotha, better fish in the sea, way way way way better.
