I was just cruising Sportchek and found the GT Force 3.0 on sale for 1839, and with the team discount I could get it for $1500. Anyone have any suggestions in that pricerange? Seems like a killer deal for an all mountain bike.

The things that concern me on the bike are the brakes. I've been out of the loops with mtn Bikes for about 10 years. The only decent brakes back then were the Hayes, Hope, Shimano XT's were alright. Also the Avid Mechanical's did a pretty damn good job, they just didn't have any modulation. I'm so lost with all these new products. The fork also seems to be quite low end, but what can you expect for that kind of money.
