The employees did state that you can still buy a phone at full price then have your wireless provide unlock it for you. I smell a cash-grab agreement between Apple and the wireless providers.
Obviously, phones purchased from the online store are factory unlocked.
I just wanted to provide this info to you guys in case anyone was curious. What do you guys think this news will do to the line-ups on release date?

id imagine there would still be people lining up only to find out they can only purchase locked phone at retail stores
ps: would i be able to walk into apple store and grab some nano sims for free on launch day? im guessing ill prob need to provide a receipt to show the number of sims needed?
