I never said it was OK for Apple to release something the same way game developers do (get it out the door and fix it later), I'm just pointing out that it appears that's what Apple did.
Which is not the same thing as rushing something to market because you're out-of-time (if their contract with Google was up). Apple must feel they are very near to completion. Working on a project as complicated as this I'm sure they know exactly where they stand. If they don't, then they're in big trouble.
Apple did a stupid thing releasing Maps in its current state, but I highly doubt this is how it's going to work for months to come.
