^ yeah Coop does not always work in favor for everyone so don't worry about it too much if you don't get in imo. The sessions that they have to build resumes and cover letters, etc are pretty useful though.
When I was in coop I hated it because it didn't really seem to work in my favor.
-my coop tried to get my company to hire more students, so just like you instantneedles I felt used as a stepping stone for coop to get connections within the company i worked for
-I paid for the program but in the end I found a job for myself outside of the program
-I pretty much paid them 2100 bucks over 3 semesters in which I had to write 3 reports (I know this is part of the program but I felt I could have just not taken coop and didn't have to deal with the reports + wasted the money like some other students)
-THE WORST point: My 3rd coop term resulted in a failing mark because the office SCREWED up on their part (didn't process my documents properly) which i feel affected my last semester of coop placement that resulted in me NOT finding a job....and then ultimately dropping coop... and finally resulting with a "W" on my transcript for coop
But I also requested to stay in vancouver for my last coop term as well so my last point could partly be my fault as well haha. still if anyone asks me, I tell them coop sucks in my opinion
