Milage is good i believe its a 2litre 4 cylinder and runs on 87 just like my 08.
Get a manual, automatic is a cvt transmission and has no gears, it feels weird if your used to driving a manual.
Maintenance is like any other car: oil changes, tranny fluid changes,wipers,battery,etc..
lots of good mods should be available soon like lowering springs, intakes, exhaust,etc..
my answers are based on me owning a 2008 lancer gts which is a really reliable car.
also i believe after next years 2013 model the design will change and you should also keep in mind mitsubishi's depreciate pretty bad.
