Lol way more elaborate than I have planned. Went and bought the ring today, its being made and will be ready in 2 weeks.

Stoked. I was actually surprised how decent a ring you can get in a fairly reasonable price range. Whatever guy came up with the 3 month salary rule must not have had a car to spend his money on.

As for the size, the girl who helped me at the store was actually pretty much the exact same size/build as my girlfriend. She was a 6.5, so I went with that.
