People will only put up with so much, and if the benefits aren't immediately obvious to them they're not going to be happy with the changes.

Win 8 is supposed to unify the tablet and x86 architectures, make touch-enabled PC's more friendly to use. Which it will do... however it remains to be seen if people will adapt to the changes.
