^ I'd say that very much so applies to today's generation...
People falling "in love" after a couple of weeks... I personally can't throw around "I love you"'s at the end of every sentence/day with my significant other... At what point does it become more of a routine than 3 words that can make them blush and their heart sink... Just my .02
