That's what I have now actually:
240 GB OCZ Vertex 3 - Windows install/some programs (photoshop, etc)
800 GB Intel DC-S3700 - All other programs
2x1 TB Seagate HDD RAID1 - Videos, music, photos... No programs run off these drives
128 GB Crucial m4 - A cache for the Seagate RAID, just in case I do run stuff off there
64GB left over from Crucial m4 - Scratch disk/temp storage
Pretty much nothing is running off an HDD, it's just there to store things. Obviously I am in a different scenario right now so I can do this easily, but I think next year most builds will be something like this. Or they should be! |
Do you have any more info on this setup? I'll pick up another SSD Cyber Monday if it looks like something that'll benefit me. Right now my plan is:
Daily/Media whore PC
120GB HDD - OS/Programs
500GB HDD - Active torrents/Larger programs
2x2TB HDD RAID - Pictures, GoPro vids etc
250GB Ext HDD - Offsite backups
Gaming PC
60GB SSD - OS/important programs
1TB HDD - Larger programs
