Like I had said, you as the individual pick and choose your workout schedule the way you want it to. From the way he said it, he didn't seem too motivated to workout in the morning. So I suggested the afternoon. My idea still applies. If you can't put in your full focus into the lifting at a certain time of the day then it probably isn't the right time to lift.
I know plenty of construction workers, officers workers with full time jobs that work close to 10 hours a day, and still find time during their lunch breaks, or evenings to go to the gym and workout. Mornings don't always work out for everyone.
