Question to anyone that has boots you need to oil..

I purchased the red wings on the last page and the saleswoman told me to oil them once a week for the first month

today i wore them for about an hour mostly driving a bit of walking, and there are very minor creases where you bend your foot at the ball/toes, if i continue to oil them more often will they get broken in without creases or are the creases inevitable?
