From NNTSANTT, I'm thinking as a visitor. 6 mo visitor visa potentially extended to 1 yr, though once in Korea you can apply for other visas (ie: E2 visa, assuming you've got a 4-year university degree.)
Not that I pay attention to Korea-related posts though
