As someone that has been here for ten years, I think it's a sign of the times as gear as gotten so much cheaper and more accessible...and we've also gotten a hell of a lot older and (relatively) richer. Shit, I could not IMAGINE the money I spend these days when I was 19. We all know gear does not make the photo but there is certainly stuff we can do now that we simply couldn't with our cameras at the time.

I remember I had a Canon G2. Pretty sure you had a Sony? So did Levitron? Others, like Dottie and that guy that shot skateboarders shot on film and scanned. Those of us that switched to almost entirely digital...the sheer difference in gear between what was essentially a fancy point-and-shoot to the glass we have today...I mean, what the hell was bokeh back then? We were much more "f8 and be there" back then.
