It sounds like you're breathing deeply but not actually inhaling.
If you're not a smoker, and you actually inhaled for ten seconds, your world would be spinning like a merry-go-round.
You've brought it into the back of your throat, but not your lungs.
You just need to relax, right now your body is tensing up and not letting the smoke go where you want it. It knows the smoke is bad for it, you need to convince it otherwise.
I'd suggest picking up a pack of cigarettes and having a couple, you'll relax then, and the smoke will go where you want it. Once you nail it once, you'll be used to it and it'll happen everytime...
