Yes, but some very enlightened people here are suggesting that if you lose your DL, you can't enter your car anymore because there is some magical barrier that you dare not cross, and to drive your car without one should be punishable by the chair.
And if you were doing the next reasonable thing and carrying another piece of government issued ID in the meanwhile, and that ID is misplaced by a third party, it's still entirely your fault for losing your DL in the first place.
