IMO, begin your first date with something small. Not many girls will be your type, so starting with something small and cheap benefits you.
Keep in mind, some people go on multiple dates a month, if every one of them involves jap food dinner $60+ or a movie night out $40+, you'd be broke in no time.
If you like to keep your date at minimal a month, then go for the expensive stuff.
