beats mixr vs pioneer hdj 2000 vs others??

So I'm planning to spent around $300 for a good pair of cans finally. Mixr and hdj2000 comes to around $250 on amazon.com. Audiophiles generally avoid the beats line but I have read very good review on the mixr by actual audiophiles. On the other hand HDJ2000 seems to be the de facto dj headphone and has good review and rep everywhere I search. I don't dj professionally but I do like to mess around on my friend's equipments and hope to one day get some gear of my own, so the dj aspect of the headphone isn't needed but would be nice. Right now I'm leaning more towards the mixr because I have read the the midrange on the hdj2000 is tune down for easier beat matching and the mixr sounds better without an amp. That and that most of the music i listen to are hip hop, trance dub step etc. Seems like mixr are intended for that type of music.

Anybody have experience in both set or maybe can recommend me another can that I might like?

I would also like to use it to occasionally watch movies with 5.1 audio on the laptop too. but music is the priority here.
