I had the same problem with my subaru. I did some research and bought some electronic contact cleaner from main street electronics.
Main Electronics MG Chemicals page Its the second one on the list. They are local. It cost less then $10 dollars. It fixed the problem. The sensor just got dirty and I cleaned it with that product. You can probably find something else in canadian tire which is made for MAF sensor cleaning. Heres a video
