Because you are now connecting your TV to a dedicated graphics card which does not deal with audio, it is normal for your TV to not have sound. You need a separate cable for the audio. The type of cable depends on what's available from your computer and on your TV. I used to use an optical cable.
No idea why you are experiencing the popping noise. Can you pinpoint where the noise is coming from if not from your speakers?
