(the main reason im worried about Abrams is i think he'll ruin Lucas' star wars like he did with Star Trek)
i think these guys would be better choices than Abrams
McG could of done it well (terminator salvation, we are marshall, charlies angels)
Whedon as suggested
Andrew Stanton (directed john carter, wall e, finding nemo + he wrote the story for toy story 1/2/3/4*, wall-e, etc)
Kurt Wimmer (equilibrium, ultraviolet, salt etc)
or if they were able to get them someone like Ridley Scott or Richard Donner (might be too old now though)
