I'm currently using both Asus's network utility together with Windows's network utility. Anyone know where the problem might reside? I do use a 2.4GHz wireless mouse which may or may not be capable of causing interference as I used a USB extension cable to place the network adapter high up close to the ceiling with no obstructions between it and the router, so why this is happening puzzles me.
I would suggest the powerline ethernet... amazing devices.

is the router on the floor above you? If so, maybe place the adapter closer to the window, since its on a extension cable.
