But if you don't want to fly or take a ferry, the choices can be limited.

If you want to take a ferry, I would recommend Poet's Cover Resort on Pender Island, or Galiano Resort....or RockWater Resort. The nice thing about Galiano is it is only a 50min ferry ride. Pender is a little bit more because you need to make several stops. Total trip is about 2.5 hours, but it is a beautiful island.

To be honest, I don`t really enjoy going to Whistler unless it is for skiing\snowboarding. It can get pretty expensive to eat out all the time and in all reality, unless you are there for outdoor sports, its just a big shopping mall. And, walking through the village in the snow and rain isn't all that fun.

Booking a local resort that has "packaged" deals is always easier.
