Two days ago, I unplugged all of my cables (monitor, mouse, keyboard, ethernet, etc) so I could move my table around. When I re-plugged my cables in, my monitor couldn't detect VGA/DVI for some reason, and went to sleep. I thought my GPU was dead, but it turns out to be fine. After countless reboots, and using onboard, and re-installing the gpu, I was able to get a connection.

My question is, does anyone know what causes the monitor to fail to detect a signal?
