Herschel is killed by the governor. Dale dies from a bite but he's the guy that loses a leg, not Herschel. Herschel doesn't join the group til they get to the prison and Rick comes back to get him.

Carol commits suicide (by voluntary zombie bite) after Rick and Lori don't want to have a threesome.

Remains to be seen what happens to Tyrese, Julie (daughter), Allan and Ben. They're significantly different from their comic counterparts.
