I'm not sure if all apartment buildings are the same, but my mom's old one and my grandpa's building limit access from 6am - 9pm. Same with the gym.
Actually there's one place in Port Moody (an apartment complex) on St. John just before the dealerships I think. They had 24hr access (mom was looking at buying a place in there). So I guess it's possible... sorry that totally wasn't helpful was it =/
