Skys the limit when it comes to home theatre. From couple hundred dollar home theatre in the box to full out theatre rooms.

Comes down to your budget is, the size of the room and the layout of the room.

Is it strictly for movies? Or music also? Hi-fi speakers and home theatre speakers are quite different.

JBL speakers are used in most actual theatres. So that might be something you'll want to consider. Just remember its always better to do things right once rather then keep upgrading. I'd start off with a good reciever + front towers first. Then sub, center then rears. If budget allows of course getting everything at once is better.
