For a budget system, you can't do better than an Energy Take 5.1 system paired with a halfway decent receiver. My buddy has the Energy Take 5.1s hooked up to my 8 or 9 year old Marantz SR4500 and it's an awesome home theatre setup. It vastly outperforms my $5000 2 channel setup for movies.
