It all depends Don't expect to get anything in return for you when give out and you will be a much much happier person. Although I don't buy presents unless is birthdya, weddings, or I been seeing the person for at least a few dates(usually just flowers first).
If the girl is into you, or acutally cares aobut you, she won't expect you to get her anything expensive but rather just spending time with you is more than enough.
