Werd. It's not really a true gift if there's an expectation of any sort attached to it.
The thing is, this practice is quite common from what I've observed growing up in Vancouver and I too was guilty of it myself when I was a teenager and a bit in my early 20's.
When you have NO game, a lot of people
can only resort to buying ones affection. Whether it be buying it with goods and items, or fake chivalry, it doesn't matter, it's really their only avenue, or course of action.
