One semester, I was like 20th by the end of week one. I continued to go to class and did the notes and the work. I wasn't allowed to hand them in or do any quizzes. A day or so before the end of third week, a kid dropped out and since no one from the waitlist was showing up other than me, I was given the spot. Because there is no waitlist during the second and third week, if a spot opens up, there is no way of the prof to contact anyone that was on the waitlist to see if they want to register for the class. So the prof would probably continue on with 39 students. When I finally got in, I worked out a deal with the prof. I was given a deadline for the following week to finish and hand it all the homework and catch up on missed notes etc, which was fine since I had been regularly attending classes.

hmm, thanks for this bit of info. How does this work if like +10-20 people show up to the class then? It'll be extremely crowded and i don't think a prof would put up with that
