Strange. Sounds like the bike needed adjustments.
I had to get a quick rear derailleur adjustment as mine jumped in and out of gear and a few touches at PMS, problem was solved in minutes and free!
The downshifting on SRAM took me a few rides to get used to so you're not the only one (and this is coming from a full season on Ultegra!)
