The more time you give yourself to break up with her, the more pain it is to yourself since you are the one head over heels for her. It also gives her time to discover the truth (the 'other guy' have probably already told her the truth). She will become defensive and will be the one dumping your ass rather than you (assuming she is the alpha of this relationship)
