It's Sony, they'll find a way. But like you said, it'll take a few years.
I wonder if there will be smaller JDM controllers? Although the controller might just look big because the console is smaller than the package art makes it look?

Yes, Im currently using 2 controllers one of which is a stock one from 7 years ago and one from 3 years ago. Both are perfectly fine and going strong. I had another stock controller that broke a few years back but it was the RB button that got messed up.
The reason I preferer the Xbox controller is I play a lot of FPS and Third Person which requires some quick and presicion aiming. I find I can control it a lot better with the 360. The PS controllers analog is a lot loose so I find I'm way less presice with the aiming.
