in all honestly snakes are perfect for the city dweller, even easier to take care of than a hamster. Live to a decent age and you can take 2-3 week vacation without worrying about finding a pet sitter
and yes the little girl gobble the rat down after the kill, I will try to get vid of the full feeding next time. It takes alot of patience on my part cause sometimes the snake won't start swallowing its prey if feels unsafe (ie have a camera or me in his face)
