It's only a matter of time before the media starts pointing the finger at Luongo as the reason Gillis was forced to trade Schneider.
He turned down two chances to be traded last off season. First when there was a deal with Toronto and he reportedly said no. Second, when Canucks management went to him to see if he would be willing to waive his no trade to the Oilers. Again he reportedly said no. He got greedy thinking the Panthers would ask for his services.
Some may even suggest that the Canucks did well on the deal. A top ten pick in a deep draft for a goalie (when goalies don't fetch much these days). If Gillis dealt Cory 12 months ago it would have been during a lackluster draft year.
