Well China is the new market now for a lot of the actors. If you are a popular actor you can make 10x as much per eposide when you do a series in China Vs. TVB. Not to mention china is a huge market with lot's chance to make huge $$$ (comericals, shows, concerts.....). That's why you see a lot of the popular TVB actors all quit TVB once they got famous and going to China.
Another factor is that TV shows from China is a lot better script than TVB.

You are talking about a country with 1.3 Billion people versus a city with 7 million.
China's market is huge, but also far more competitive. Luckily my company distribute advertisement airtime in China. TVB is sucking my dick just for a little bit of revenue sharing
