well since theres disccusion about chirashi now, ill chime in on some places ive had chirashi at.

sushi house - decent quality and very good value considering size to price point.

sushi hachi - pricing is decent for a place like sushi hachi but size is a bit underwhelming. fish is good in quality but cut quite thinly.

sakura sushi - box that it comes in is nice and selection is quite varied. quality is there (except for the ikura which tends to be a bit droopy and dry). interestingly, the ebi served in the box is not amaebi but botan-ebi which is a nice touch.

maruwa - my experience is with the bara-chirashi. taste is decent but the portion size is very very small. you will leave hungry.

takeya - i've only ever had the mini chirashi that comes along side the noodle set. quality is quite good and portion is generous considering the udon + kakiage that comes along with it.

ichiro - the chirashi lunch set is a steal. not only is the chirashi presented beautifuly, it is quite varied in the selection of fish along with being very fresh. everytime i've gone, they've served suzuki which is a nice touch. along with that, you get a side hot soba/udon on the side which is excellent. the soba specifically, tastes very authentic.

gyo-o - i haven't been back in a year or 2 but from past experience, the kaisen-don is excellent. nicely cut and fresh. portion size is just about right.

tokyo joe - oversized slabs of tuna and salmon and everything else didn't look too appetizing. freshness was questionable and presentation was very messy and unappealing.

zero one sushi - quality of fish is excellent (hamachi from nagasaki, hotate from hokkaido) but i hate eating out of those damn styrofoam bowls.

tenhachi (now relocated and renamed aotoya blue door) - did not have chirashi here but the hon-maguro don (tekka don). it was a seasonal special but has to be the best tekka don i've had in vancouver. very fresh and portion size was right for the price.
