Well this is my point.

It's more difficult to prove intent on fraud if no fraud occurred than it is as attempted murder or some of the other things that Phil mentioned(attempted robbery, rape and so on). Either you are fraudulent or you are talking about it. So the crime is lying. Well, in the eyes of the law, THAT would open up a can of worms. Attempted murder is usually you sucking at actual murder-ie, the guy lived. Attempted robbery-same.

But there isn't really a "kinda" fraud. You either succeed-charged with fraud, or it was a business transaction that didn't work out.

This kid..we ALL know he was gonna take the car. But prove it. Not so easy. Everything else can really be a bad deal, or lying on the internet or 1000 other things.
